Anything you want to see—just type it in and AI will generate a classical-style painting of questionable quality in seconds and place it on the wall, without having to wait hundreds of years for an artist to create the masterpiece in your mind. Now that’s what I call art.

This effect was built on the 8th Wall platform, using two of their pre-built projects: the GenAI sample project, which uses OpenAI’s api to generate images on demand, and the Image Targets template, which recognizes pre-determined images and overlays an ai-generated image in AR. I used ChatGPT to help me combine these two pre-composed projects so that I could recognize a specific painting in the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco (Madonna Enthroned with Saints Jerome and Bartholomew and Angels by Raffaellino del Garbo), and overlay any ai-generated art I ask for.
